Learning outcomes |
The course deals with the topic of business process management as a comprehensive approach that integrates business management and information technology aspects. Based on strategic objectives, students model, analyse and improve internal company processes. The students can outline the connection between the terms strategy development, process management and workflow management. They know the concept of an integrated application architecture and can compare the most important modelling methods including their area of application. The students know the individual notation elements from BPMN 2.0 and can apply them according to the rules. In addition, they can abstract the logic of real processes and create recipient-oriented models at different levels of abstraction. The students can collect and document processes and develop a continuous process model up to an automated workflow. They are able to reflect on process automation in relation to defined goals. They are able to connect the different solution options with regard to business management and architectural aspects (bridge between the business world and IT). |
