Learning outcomes |
Problem-solving processes along the distributed value chain require cognitive, methodological and social competences. Therefore, findings from the behavioural sciences, (quantitative) business administration and systems theory are used for problem solving in an entrepreneurial context. Theory inputs provide methodological knowledge that can be tried out and experienced in phases of the business game. The students are enabled to describe the current St. Gallen management model, to embed the problem-solving cycle in the St. Gallen management model, to explain essential consequences of the trilemma on problem-solving and to name important limitations of rationality in problem-solving. They should be able to describe the influence of mental models on problem definition, name the structure of goal hierarchies and transfer the traditional problem-solving cycle to their own tasks. Students are enabled to apply multi-criteria decision rules and to describe multi-personal decision processes. |
