Learning outcomes |
The flow of information is an integral part of supply chain management. Having information about the current state of the objects and the supply chain at any time and any place is necessary for the manager to make decisions. Students of Supply Chain Management and Digital Management and IT will find concrete application fields of digitalisation in this course. The students know IT-supported possibilities and standards for the identification, tracking and communication of objects in the supply chain (e.g. EDI, barcodes, RFID, etc.). The students can describe their possible applications. Marketplaces, electronic catalogues, auction portals, etc. for the implementation of B2B and B2C concepts as well as their possible applications are made known. Procedures and possibilities for the provision, analysis and distribution of supply chain data can be presented (e.g. data warehouse, big data, analysis tools such as multidimensional analyses, data mining, etc.). Current concepts for the integration of information and technical possibilities within a supply chain from an internal as well as cross-company perspective can be discussed and described (e.g. Industry 4.0, Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR), etc.). IT support for Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) can be explained and described. Students can analyse case studies and argue suitable IT support processes and technologies for supply chain management. |
