Learning outcomes |
Companies and organisations, especially start-ups, are having increasing problems recruiting employees who are professionally and personally suitable. Once recruited, talent and high potentials need to be encouraged and supported in their careers through ongoing development. Even though these initiatives are costly, the costs are even higher when these employees leave the company. This course highlights the strategic tension between attracting and retaining the best talent and preventing loss through unwanted turnover. The focus is on discussing possible approaches to HR management such as values-based management, task and career planning, mentoring, onboarding, engagement programmes, compensation, benefits and other incentives, growth cultures, workplace well-being and work-life balance programmes. The students get to know the corresponding approaches in their structure, can classify the meaning and are able to discuss the suitability for specific use cases and constellations and formulate corresponding implementation concepts. |
