Learning outcomes

Depending on the desired professional field, labour law as a special field of law is an important addition to the legal competence formation for graduates of International Business Administration. Entrepreneurial decisions are often connected with personnel decisions; knowledge of the essential protective functions for employees and the framework conditions for employers are essential for this.

The students can explain basic legal terms of Austrian labour law. They know the basic features of the applicable labour law in the area of individual labour law as well as in the area of collective labour law. They can classify simple facts in legal terms and are able to recognise labour law contexts in example situations. Students can legally assess simple facts and recognise whether and which legal claims exist. They can apply labour law from both the employee's and the employee's point of view.
