Learning outcomes |
Integrated business information systems support entrepreneurial tasks and processes with the help of standardised software systems and enable real-time analyses and optimisations. In this context, the networking of business process-oriented IT solutions is of crucial importance. In addition, flexible value creation networks are becoming increasingly apparent in the economy, which require the integration of customers and partners into the value creation chains. The main objective of this course is to show the potential and the importance of integrated information systems including the necessity to adapt them to entrepreneurial conditions. The students know and understand the essential concepts, methods and applications of integrated information processing and integrated information systems. In addition to horizontal and vertical integration, this also includes implementation in integration concepts and technical framework conditions, such as electronic data exchange. The students can classify IT-supported solutions using the example of ERP systems in terms of their functionality and embedding in business management processes. Essential current and future technical and economic framework conditions are understood and can be introduced into the selection and implementation process of these software and IT systems. The students can reproduce and analyse the basic data and application structures of standardised integrated information systems. They can analyse, model and explain the requirements and conditions of the individual systems for the support of business processes. The students work on concrete exercise examples and simulate realistic everyday situations in companies. The exercise unit pursues the goal of mapping a complete business process from sales order to invoicing, including the required master data (customers, suppliers, materials, etc.) with the help of SAP ERP. The functionalities are taught in an action-oriented manner on the system using exercises and case studies. |
