Course content |
English teaching in the Bachelor of International Business Administration programme is oriented towards the CBI approach (Content Based Instruction) and thus has the following focal points:
The syllabus of this course provides strategies for dealing with English discussions. In a first discussion, the focus is on moderating practical business topics. In a second discussion, the course offers the opportunity to use a business report as a source for a business idea. |
Learning outcomes |
Professional and convincing moderation of discussion groups is a general basic competence. Students of International Business Administration have to moderate numerous discussion groups and meetings in the course of their studies or are required to be constructive participants; there is no job description in which graduates do not regularly have to represent positions or make decisions in discussion groups. The students know moderation techniques. They can describe the roles and functions of the participants in a moderation using examples. Students are able to plan and moderate English-language discussions on economic topics or on business reports. They can apply the appropriate moderation techniques according to the situation and formulate feedback on the use of the moderation techniques. The students know the investor relations websites of some corporations and can research annual reports. They know English-language technical terms from the annual financial statement and can understand the basic structure of an annual report. |
