Prerequisites and co-requisites

No prerequisite. Active participation.

Course content

The students develop a play. They decide the topic, develop the scenes and play roles.

Theatre works with the contribution of all.

1. Choosing a topic through active observation, diskussion and reflection. Wrting a storybook .

2. Director and stagedesigner develop together with the students the scenery. Costumes, stage and music were built and students are actors, who reflect about their feelings.

3. Rehearsals lead to good practice.

4. In the public performance the students discuss their play with the audience. 5. At the end students reflect their experience and write a report.

Learning outcomes

Playing theatre means to overtake a new role, to disover oneself new and get another person. During this process students can reflect and develop important competences like individual appearance, the impact of language, gesture, mimic and body language. Observation of theirself and others leads to a deeper understanding of all these expressions.

Students learn on their development path, which is not at all logic and intended, to work towards the date of the performance. What will be performed by their bodies will develop itself unconsciously.

Individual reflection report (4-5 p.) about the process and learning outcome.

Together with the producer, the stage designer and the makeup artist the students will be led through the process of the staging of their performance.
