Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Students know topical and contemporary leadership models and styles and can describe necessary leadership skills. They know essential management tasks and possible dilemmas that can derive from it.

 

Comprehension

They understand the interdependency between leaders and followers and understand leadership as a social interaction.

 

Application

Students apply management tools in various simulated situations and reflect on their effect.

 

Analysis

Students are aware of their own personal values, their own image of human nature and leadership principles and are able to express them in the analysis of case studies.

 

Synthesis

Students create and justify a leadership situation according to understandable and theoretical management guidelines.

 

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, workshop, discussions, case studies, simulation, presentations
Assessment methods and criteria
  • 15 % Pre-assignment (written individual)
  • 30 % Case analysis in - Written paper and classroom activity (group work) – two cases will be taught in class, activity in case discussion and hand in 300 word written analysis before class discussions
  • 25 % Workshop (group work) - full day of workshop activities including research and presentations
  • 15 % Online exam (individual)
  • 15 % Attendance and activity in classroom (individual) - presence and activity

All 100% weighed together as one final mark
(note a minimum of 50% attendance is required to be able to reach a passing grade on the course)
