Course content
  • Internal structures and properties of FPGAs and CPLDs.
  • Fundamentals of Verilog or VHDL.
  • Implementation digital logic.
  • Verifikation of digital logic.
  • FPGA tool chain
  • Application of digital design techniques in an FPGA project
Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students will be able to outline and explain the structure and properties of different types of programmable devices. Students will be able to outline the basics and structure of a description language (VHDL or Verilog). Students will be able to use VHDL or Verilog for modeling as well as verification through simulation. Students will be able to synthesize and verify digital systems designed in VHDL or Verilog using an FPGA.
