Prerequisites and co-requisites

Recommended prior knowledge:

  • basic knowledge in modeling with Cinema4D (functions, user interface)
  • basic knowledge of Unity (functions, user interface)
  • Basics of programming
Course content
  • Introduction to Mixed Reality (Augmented and Virutal Reality): Technologies and Applications
  • Creation of 3D scenarios
  • Use of materials and textures for real-time applications
  • Interaction: using different devices and input methods, event system, scripts
  • Graphical interface elements

 The individual workshops build on each other and lead to an exciting interactive application for VR glasses and desktop.

Learning outcomes

The students learn about the different forms and applications of Mixed Reality and get an overview of the different possibilities of the technologies. In the course of a practical example in Unity, they learn the methods and workflows from the integration of 3D content and the use of interactive elements to user interfaces for applications. They will be able to apply what they have learned directly in practice and know the necessary technical terms to communicate with other disciplines.

This course takes place together with the elective "3D Computergraphics" from the computer science program. The projects are worked on in international and multidisciplinary teams, so that each discipline can benefit from the expertise of the others.
