Course content

In this workshop the students deal with the topics writing, form, color and grid. Background knowledge about the typeface will be briefly presented. In the topic form we come from point to surface. For example, we look at whether a point can have a weight. What causes the set of characters, their size and number for associations, or how to get from a 9-point matrix to a polysurface are also contents. The theme of color looks at the digital and analog aspect of color. It works associatively, emotionally, factually and rationally with color. Two important ones

Figures from the history of the theory of colors will also play a role here. Raster looks at what a grid actually is, where it can be used, and how to create it. In a large exercise, the knowledge is then combined and based on ones own or a freely chosen topic a multi-page publication is designed.

Workshop topics:

  • Font
  • Shape
  • Color Digital
  • Color Analog
  • Grid
