Course content

With the Masters thesis, students should demonstrate the ability to answer a research question from the area of computer sciences on a scientific basis with a certain degree of novelty.

Learning outcomes

Students are able to

  • analyze a problem on a scientific basis and compare it with the current state of the art.
  • describe the objectives of a research work and delimit the problem.
  • develop and implement a solution that has a certain degree of novelty.
  • take into account the methodology of the respective field of study.
  • evaluate the results achieved and relate them to the starting point and the current state of the art.
  • document their own work and conclusions in the form of a written master thesis.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Independent work on a scientific basis coached by a competent supervisor at the university.

Assessment methods and criteria

The written Masters thesis will be assessed by the supervisor at the university. The following criteria are decisive:

  • written report
  • theme processing
  • technical implementation
  • expertise and results
