Prerequisites and co-requisites

Time slot: Thursday, 24 September 2026, from 6 pm and intensive training week (= Blockwoche) 12 to 14 October 2026

For the intensive training week permanent attendance at the course must be ensured.

  • Definition of culture and cultural identity
  • General patterns of values, beliefs and behaviour
  • Development of conflicts and conflict resolution
  • Cultural models (Hofstede, Trompenaars, Hall)
  • Prejudices / stereotypes / generalisations
Learning outcomes

At the end of this course, participants will have sound theoretical and culture-specific basic knowledge in the field of diversity and intercultural communication. They will be able to analyse their own cultural identity, reflect critically on it and thus behave professionally in various intercultural situations.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
  • Teaching and learning laboratory with different phases (input, activation, reflection)
  • Business games, exercises, simulations, role plays, etc.
  • Excursions with appropriate preparation and postprocessing
