Course content

This seminar focuses on the complexity of communicative processes within complex stystems. In a systemic framework and engaging in situational role plays students practice and reflect both on the self as a dynamic entity and as an expression of weltanschauung and professional ethics in dialogic processes as well as on individual and social constructs of reality. As preparation for the seminar students should read Janosch "The Trip to Panama". During the semester, there will be a study trip to Zurich.

Learning outcomes

Taking the individual insights gained by students regarding their weltanschauung, career choices and professional ethics in the preivious two semesters, this course asks students to look at the interplay of individuals and complex systems, to reflect on and understand communication strategies and how/why individuals act within such systems as well as to embed their insights in a theoretical frame that also serves as a point of reference and orientation for them in their professional development.
