Course content

This course will focus on the fundamentals of Economic and Energy Law. Selected chapters of energy law are dealt with in depth. In addition, current developments in energy law with a high practical relevance are discussed.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, students have a basic understanding of the systematics and selected chapters of economic and energy law. The students

  • know fundamentals and principles of law
  • can name and explain the difference between public law and civil law
  • are familiar with the legislative process at national and international level
  • can explain and describe the interaction of different institutions involved in the legislative process
  • can explain the basics of commercial private law
  • have a deeper insight into energy law. Know relevant laws and can explain and reflect on their effects and identify their advantages and disadvantages
  • can independently solve concrete practical cases on the basis of the fundamentals learned.
